Dental implant treatment is a dental procedure used to replace missing teeth by providing a stable, long-lasting and natural-looking solution. Dental implants are small titanium structures that are surgically placed into the jawbone and act as artificial tooth roots.

First Consultation
The first step is to visit your dentist for a comprehensive examination and consultation. They will assess your oral health, take x-rays or 3D scans and determine whether you are a suitable candidate for dental implant treatment.

Treatment Planning
After the examination, the doctor will develop a personalized treatment plan, taking into account factors such as the number of missing teeth, the condition of the jawbone and your general health.

Bone Grafting (if necessary): If your jawbone does not have enough density or volume, a bone graft may be needed to strengthen it before the implant is placed. This may involve using bone from another part of your body or a synthetic bone substitute. After grafting, you will need to wait a few months for the bone to heal and integrate.

Implant Placement: During this surgical procedure, your dentist or oral surgeon will make an incision in your gum, expose the jawbone and drill a small hole for the implant. The titanium implant is then inserted into the hole and fixed in place. The gum tissue is sutured closed over the implant and you will need to wait a few months for osseointegration to take place.

Abutment placement: Once the implant is integrated into the bone, a small metal post called an abutment is attached to the implant. This acts as a connector between the implant and the denture (crown, bridge or denture). The gum tissue is allowed to heal around the abutment for a few weeks.

Denture Attachment: Finally, your dentist will create a custom denture (crown, bridge or denture) that matches the color and shape of your natural tooth. This prosthesis is then attached to the abutment, completing the dental implant treatment.

Dental implants offer several advantages over other tooth replacement options, including improved appearance, durability, comfort and convenience. However, it is important to maintain good oral hygiene and attend regular dental check-ups to ensure the longevity of your dental implants.

The healing period of the implant takes 3 to 6 months. After the implant, you should pay attention to your oral and dental health and take dental care. Our doctors recommend; do not forget to brush your teeth twice a day.
